Gia — founder & autism mom
Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Gia.
Supported started with my son.
When we began his autism journey, I thought the diagnosis would be the hardest part. It wasn’t. The hardest part came after: finding the right support.
I had a government list of names, but very little information behind them.
So I cold-called them, one by one. I asked other parents in Facebook groups late at night. I followed every recommendation I could find. I spent time I didn’t have, and money I couldn’t always spare.
And everywhere I looked, I saw other parents doing the same thing.
Searching alone. Calling around. Waiting. Guessing. Starting over.
It should not be this hard.
The professionals are out there — behaviour consultants, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists. Families just can’t find them, or trust what they see.
So I decided to build the place I wish I had back then.
Supported helps us find and connect with autism support professionals in BC in a clearer, more honest way — with real credentials and experience shown up front. No star ratings. No popularity contest. Nobody paying to reach the top.
Just honest information, so you can spend less time searching and more time with your loved ones.
I cannot build this alone, and I would not want to.
If you are a professional who supports autistic children, youth, adults, or families, I would be grateful to have you here.
If you are a parent trying to find your way through this, I want you to know that you are not alone.
And if you believe families deserve better than scattered lists, late-night searches, and word-of-mouth guesswork, I hope you will help us build something better.
I hope Supported makes the journey a little clearer, a little kinder, and a little lighter for the families who come after us.
